You Are Probably Vitamin D Deficient – Here Is What to Do About It
75% of us Are Vitamin D Deficient
For many of us who live in areas of the country that do not get ample exposure to natural sunlight, adequate amounts of Vitamin D are much harder to come by naturally. The symptoms of being vitamin D deficient are bone pain and muscle weakness. You also may experience fatigue which is a very common effect of Vitamin D deficiency. Even without the symptoms os Vitamin D deficiency, you can be exposed to health risks such as increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease. According to the New York Times, Vitamin D deficiency may also support the development of certain types of cancer.
Fixing Vitamin D deficiency is one of the easiest things you can do through supplementation. It was important to us at Curos that we address this universal biological need in a simple effective way.
Dr. Josh Trutt, Chief Medical Officer here at Curos provided us with an additional (more technical) discussion on the proper supplement form, dose and quality of Vitamin D:
Vitamin D Deficient Video Transcript:
Hey guys so I here in the beautiful New York city central park what is a sunny fall day central and I wanted to address a question that comes up a lot which is should I be taking a Vitamin D supplement? and the short answer is probably yes seventy five percent of Americans are vitamin D deficient and really do require some sort of supplementation especially if you live like I do in the North East or the Midwest where we don’t get as much exposure to the sun and thus not quite exposure of natural sources of Vitamin D.
So one thing that is important is to make sure that you’re actually taking some sort of supplement, we use in [00:44 unclear] central called vitamin D3 which is regarded as pretty universally as the right form of Vitamin D to take we use 2,500 IUs as guys know we talk a lot about form dose in quality and it’s important that you are taking enough of it. So clinically the twenty five hundred IUs which is accepted as the right amount. If you are very deficient you might need to argument with more but as the day to day supplement twenty five hundred I use will do it.
The reason that Vitamin D deficiency comes up a lot is because of fatigue so if you are deficient in Vitamin D you’ll notice that you don’t have quite as much energy and that’s something that we are obviously fighting all the time and I think as I miss in this beautiful day central park I just wanted to share that with you because I think it is time we can do a little bit better it is a really easy thing to do and off course if you’re not taking [1:37 unclear] of make sure that you look for a product that you trust the source of it you trust the quality and again I think that magic number you can read on our website page it’s about 2,500 IUs daily.
So I hope you’re having as good as a day in the sun as I am and we will talk soon bye.
